My Dadu

Since I was small you have
taken care of me like a mother!
You have always given
unconditional love and utmost care!!

I have lost the count of things
you have done for me,
All the years that went past by
you have only given me glee!

From the time you told me
those lovely bedtime stories,
To the time you succumbed to
my wishes when I said please!

Ride back home from school every day
paranthas with which I was nourished,
the comfy afternoon naps in your tokri,
those moments made my childhood cherished!

Even now when I do something daring,
you always are caring!
You protect me without any fail,
no matter how naughty I sail

You have raised me like a princess,
you call me meaow,
to have you, my bebechi, my chitti
I am proud and lucky, oh wow!

You have silver in your hair,
but gold in your heart,
Dadu, you are my hero,
you are the smartest of smart!

I know that I can count on you,
you will never let me fall!
Because, You are the greatest,
and loveliest Grandpa of all!

The Band

In our family get-together,
Mom, masis and their mother,
It becomes difficult to understand,
All have amazing talks, "The Band"!

Discussing cosmetics and jewelry
Pretty clothes in a popular gallery
Own thoughts, but hand in hand,
All have amazing talks, "The Band"!

Busy times in work and happy play
Report their news of every day
Fun and challenges on their land
All have amazing talks, "The Band"!

Share experiences a bit loud,
Not smashing nana's sleeping cloud,
Skillfully handling the kids' strand
All have amazing talks, "The Band"!

"She is my mom" I tell proudly!

An incredible expert in Psychology,
Also English, Math, and Biology!
Teaches both of us- me and my brother,
Need her always, including my father!

Thinks for everybody, shouts caringly,
works all day and stays bubbly!
gets cleaner our floor and ceilings,
she knows all our feelings!

Gets less time for self, stays happily,
we know does so much for the family!
Daily cooks for us tasty meals,
for our demands, she stays on heels!

Everyone admires her smile and beauty,
I love her not as a mother, but a cutie!
Softest person seen till now,
Always keeps fairness steady, how?

When we feel lonely,
cheers us up one and only!
Being with her feels blessed,
Who is she, people guessed!
"She is my mom," I tell proudly!

Lessons learnt, with a minor burnt!

I was taking steam for my nose,
When water ran over as if from a hose!

Hot fries like on my thighs,
From mouth came out deadly cries,

Nani said to put coconut oil,
Masi cold water, to save from spoil!

Daddy soon got me tet-vacc,
I felt broken ship on the deck!

Shivers went down my spine,
Doctor said I was, but I wasn’t fine!

I was having painful dressings,
Loving family but sent blessings!

School was unwillingly missed,
Pending work made me pissed!

Grandparents visited when resting,
Being bedridden was really depressing!

Sentimental and touchy my daddy,
Throughout remained sturdy and ready!

Do anything for the heal,
With myself, I made the deal!

Nutritious food for fast recovery,
Good sleep energises, was discovery!

Obey elders sincerely,
Handle hot things carefully!

Last seen, it was totally clean,
Felt better as I had never been!

Although, mumma took it all seriously,
Couldn't help pushing me for the poetry!

Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle!!

On Tuesday, 2nd January I went to watch a movie Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle along with my family. It is a fantastic movie. The movie is set in a dense jungle which is full of wild and dangerous animals.

Some of the scenes are creepy, some are thrilling and some even inspiring. Some scenes have violence, but once in a while that is fine. This movie is full of all kinds of emotions like love, happiness, anger, gloom, surprise. It is the most adventurous movie that I have seen so far.

In this movie four teenagers (Spencer, Fridge, Martha and Bethany) of a high school are sent for detention. They are required to take out the stapler pins from magazines to be recycled as their punishment. They find an old-rusty video game, named Jumanji.

They get curious and start playing by choosing one character each from the game. Very soon they realize that they are inside the game, in a jungle, becoming the characters, they chose.

It is interesting that they can come out of the game only when they win it. They all have three lives and if they lose them they will die in the game and possibly in reality too. All the characters have different strengths and weaknesses.

Main Characters

Spencer finds himself as Dr. Smolder Bravestone, a muscular archaeologist. He is happy to become one feet taller with lots of physical strength and no weakness. Fridge comes to the jungle as Mr. Franklin Moosefinbar, an expert zoologist. He is upset to become one feet shorter.

Martha becomes Ruby Roundhouse, an attractive dance fighter. She is not very happy with her short clothes. Bethany turns into Shelly Oberon, a superb cartographer. She is not happy as she becomes a man. In fact, Shelly is the short form of Sheldon, which had appeared on the video game as the character name.

The Plot

The villain of the game Van Pelt has stolen a green gem from the eye of the Jaguars statue in the middle of the jungle. Whoever had the gem could control all the animals of the jungle. Therefore, he keeps it close to his heart .

Nigale (one of the game characters) takes the gem from Van Pelt secretly. As these four players get into the jungle and the game, Nigale tells them the whole story and hands over the gem to them. He also informs them that now it is their responsibility to put this gem back in its respective place. And as they do so, they will win the game.

Favorite Scene

My most favorite scene of the movie is when Martha has the diamond in her hand and she is in front of Van Pelt. She has two lives left and she is surrounded by poisonous snakes. At the same time, Spenser is climbing towards the statue. She had promised him to bring the gem to him. Her weakness is venom. She stomps on one of the snakes which bites her. She sacrifices her life and comes back from the sky as this is the rule of the game. While coming from the sky, she passes the gem to Spenser. I like it because she acts quite cleverly by turning her weakness into a strength at the time of emergency. It was scary as well as an amazing scene.

Another scene that I liked was when Martha goes to catch attention of the guards, so that the others can get a transport from the garage behind the guards. Unknowingly, the music turns on and by her dance fighting skills, Martha finishes them off.

3D effect

We watched the movie in 3D. In many scenes I forgot I was sitting in a movie hall, and felt as if I was in the jungle. The scene when a Hippopotamus with his big mouth open, came to eat Bethany was one such scene.
Hippo

There is another where Bravestone makes the helicopter tilt and catches the zoologist after he had finished his second life and is falling from the sky. It was most thrilling part of the movie.

I held my mum’s hands very tightly all the time. I came out of the movie very happy and thrilled. I give 9.5 points out of 10 to this movie. This movie is a must watch for everyone

Visit to Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer

My Daddy got an invitation for judging a national level Multimedia competition at Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer. The competition was part of their Silver Jubilee Commemorative Young Thinker’s conclave. Since it was on one of my holidays, he wanted me to accompany him. I was extremely excited and thrilled to go there as it was my first time to visit a boarding school

Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer is one of the top boarding schools of the country. It provides education to girls from grade 4th to 12th, so I was hoping to meet some of my batchies. We had started early in the morning from Jaipur. As we were going to be in the cab for long time Mumma had packed some fruits and sandwiches for me to eat at the time of hunger. I was quite curious as daddy was telling me great things about the place on the way to Ajmer.

As we reached the destination, I saw a great building with a gigantic entrance. We went inside towards the IT lab, where Madam Amanpreet was waiting for us. She welcomed us warmly.  She was the one who had invited daddy. She was delighted to see me too with daddy. Aman Preet Madam called Ridhima to show me around the campus while daddy went for the function.

The dorms

Ridhima didi took me to the dorms of 4th and 5th graders. At the entrance of the building I saw a phone in the right and a pathway towards the assembling hall where all the children would assemble at night before sleeping. It was also called a recreation center. There was a cupboard full of games. And there was a TV also where students came at snack time to watch the programs.
When I went inside the dorm I saw many beds and a shelf beside some of the beds. Each girl had a bed and a wardrobe. Some of them shared the shelves. But this was not fair according to me as every child should own a shelf. In the shelves girls kept their belongings.

New friends

I met few girls from 4th grade, Devishi, Garima and Gargie. Devishi, was friendly. She told me about her favorite things. She shared her funny moments in the hostel. Garima showed me her shelves and living space. She treated me like a new born baby. Gargie was very kind-hearted. She offered me to take anything from her expensive stationery and other belongings. They were quite attractive, but I did not pick any.
I met another girl who had very strong and powerful body built. She told me she knew karate moves. I did believe in her but wanted to see if she could prove it. So, I asked her to do so. She hit on her wardrobe with a hard leg stroke and it opened with a thud. All the girls I met there treated me like a princess in gigantic palace. I enjoyed with them and played for two hours and then went for lunch.

The Lunch time

Ridhima didi took me to the mess. There were no sofa or chairs, but benches to sit and eat. There was a small but complete vegetarian menu. It included daal, rice, alu, parantha. I chose alu ki sabji with parantha, for my meal. It was delectable. And I think everyone in the world should have eaten that. Nobody was serving food over there. I took my meal and started scoffing it. As I was eating, I saw Ridhima’s friends who were talking about their problems in various subjects.

Swimming pool and Science Park

After finishing my food, I went back to play with my friends. However, they had to go for their swimming and games class by that time. So, I accompanied them to the swimming pool. Pool was filled with clear transparent water. The children were swimming very actively, water was splashing and inviting me to get in.
I also went to the Science Park. There were many interesting scientific games. A model of a car was also displayed there. I sat in it and could turn the steering wheel to see movements of different parts.  At the snack time, all of them came back from their respective classes. All of us had patties for snack, which was delicious from the snack point. While eating I watched TV and played many games like Othelo.

Dinner and Odomos time

I went for dinner with my batchies. This time they had non-vegetarian food also on the menu. However, since my friends were vegetarian, I sat with them. Finally, it was time for all the students to assemble in the hall. Ma’am Deepa took the attendance and all of us got chocolate as it was Ganesh Chaturthi. Then we all went to the milk point and had milk along with Bournvita. After some time, a maid came and put odomos on our legs and arms. It was a wonderful facility provided by the school authorities, and I saw the staff was very caring for all the girls over there.

Bye and Coming back

In the last, daddy came to take me home. Madam Aman Preet gave us a cup and a folder as souvenirs for our visit. While coming in the cab I was thinking whether I should join the hostel from next year. I talked to daddy about it while driving back home.I enjoyed my time there . The best thing I found living in boarding school was that I could have company of my fellow friends even after the school. I can contact my teachers for any problems in studies, even after school. Living there will make me more independent for doing anything. Boarding school teaches us high discipline. I was very fascinated and attracted towards the facilities and care provided at Mayo College Girls School

Discussion with Daddy

We discussed, and I learnt -despite the hostel is attractive in all ways, it has certain disadvantages. If one goes to hostel he/she misses his/her family endlessly. There is nobody to tell what is right and wrong. I reached home and hugged Mumma and my brother Mudit. I realized how much I would miss them if I live in hostel. And it would be tough being without seeing my brother for so many days. I would not have unlimited fun there, especially the family-fun. My dad gets me cakes or chocolates or whatever I wish and whenever I desire, even at late nights. My mumma would clean up and organize all my stuff whenever I am not able to. That would not happen in the hostel. My grandparents would not be around for me to see whenever I wish to.

I am still in dilemma, which option is better. What do you think?

Christmas 2017: The Secret Santa and Perfect Gifts

As Christmas was approaching our teacher in school told us about a game that we would play in the class after the exam. It was named as Secret Santa. In that game, the class monitor had to make the chits with names of all the students and teacher as well. Each child would come roll number wise to pick a chit. Whoever’s name the student would pick, he/ she would be the secret Santa for that student. That would mean that he/ she would get a gift and keep secretly in that student’s bag.

When my turn came to pick the chit, I luckily picked the chit with my friend Varshita’s name on it. I was very excited to get a gift for her. When I went home and told my mother about the game, she liked it too. After thinking a lot, I remembered once I had gone to a stationary shop with my dad. There, I had liked a clutch pencil in purple color. I realized that Varshita’s favorite color was purple too. I decided to give this special pencil to her. Although, daddy bought it for me and I loved it a lot; but Varshita is one of my best friends.

The next day when Varshita had gone to meet her sister in the lunch break, I secretly kept her gift in her bag. When she came back, while taking out her tiffin she found the gift. She was overjoyed to see that. She came to know about her secret Santa which was me and so thanked me for the perfect gift.

The other day, when I was talking to one of my friends, Aishwarya, another good friend of mine, secretly kept my gift in my bag. When I opened my bag for taking out a notebook for classwork, I found the beautifully wrapped gift from my secret Santa.

As all my friends were insisting me to open it, I did. My gift was a special diary in my favorite color- purple. I was super excited to see this.
I thanked my dearest friend Aishwarya for this lovely gift. Aishwarya told me that this diary was made by poor people. I liked my gift a lot.

                             favorite color purple

This was one of the best games I had played in school. Sharing is caring! According to me, this game should be played with poor and underprivileged people. They should receive gifts from people like us secretly. I felt happier in giving the secret gift more than receiving. I am sure most of my classmates must have felt the same way.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

My video

A couple of years ago, I had enacted in a skit about two young girls who were wishing for gifts from Santa on Christmas eve. This is a must see video for every child. It has a great message. The video is displayed below.

You are my Daddy, and I love you!

No matter what you do,
you are my daddy and I love you!!

You work so hard,
So I made you this card!

You are my hero,
who has never scored zero!

Neither cruel nor wild,
you are just like a child!

You always play with us,
 without any fuss!

You love to feed a lot,
like for the food we’ve fought!

You have taught me bit, nibble and byte,
While giving my meals, bite by bite!

I like it when you put down your glasses and think!
‘chunki’ you are the sailor, our boat will never sink!!

A mind like yours is rare to be found,
You have the power to heal any wound!

There is nothing from you that I seek,
As you are superlatively unique!

You are like a wise wizard without wings,
Accepting whatever life brings!

You are the best daddy and I love you so much,
I wish every child may have a daddy like such!

One day when I grow up into a smart successful lady!
I’ll be proud to announce the man who raised me- my daddy!!
